Calendar sync

Put your scheduled tasks next to your meetings, so the day you are planning is the whole day and not half of it.

Connecting Google Calendar mirrors your dated Todome tasks onto your calendar as events. Your day then reads honestly: the two hours of work you committed to sit alongside the meetings that were already going to eat them.

Connecting

  • Go to Settings → Calendars and choose Connect Google Calendar.
  • Google asks for permission to manage events. Todome requests only the events scope — it cannot read your contacts, your mail, or anything else in your account.
  • Events start appearing straight away as tasks are created or edited.

What gets synced

In TodomeIn Google Calendar
Task with a due date onlyAn all-day event on that day
Task with a due date and timeA timed event starting then
Task with a durationThe event lasts that long
Task with a time but no durationA 30-minute event
Task with no due dateNothing — undated tasks are not events
Task completed or deletedThe event is removed

The description carries across, and events land on your primary Google calendar.

One direction only

Careful: Sync runs from Todome to Google, and not back. Editing an event in Google Calendar does not change the task, and the next edit in Todome will overwrite what you changed. Treat the calendar as a view of your tasks, and make changes in Todome.

Meetings created in Google Calendar stay in Google Calendar — they do not become Todome tasks. This is deliberate for now: two-way sync between systems that both think they own the record is the fastest way to lose data, and one clear direction is the safer thing to ship first.

If you delete a synced event in Google, Todome notices next time that task changes and recreates it. The task is the source of truth.

Timezones

A task carries the timezone it was created in, and the event is written with that timezone so a 5pm task stays 5pm when you travel. Tasks created without one default to Asia/Kolkata.

Disconnecting

Disconnect from the same Calendars screen. Todome stops writing to your calendar and discards the tokens. Events already created are left in place — delete them in Google Calendar if you do not want them, since Todome will no longer have permission to do it for you.

When it is not working

Nothing appears at all

  • Calendar sync is a paid feature — check your plan first.
  • Only tasks with a due date sync. A task sitting in Inbox with no date will never appear.
  • Check the connection still shows as active in Settings → Calendars.

It stopped after working

Usually the Google permission was revoked — from your Google account’s security page, or by changing your password. Reconnect from Settings, and the tasks you have edited since will sync on their next change.

Someone else’s tasks are not on my calendar

A task syncs to the calendar of whoever created it, not whoever it is assigned to. In a shared workspace, a task a teammate created for you will not appear on your calendar.
